Last year my husband and I moved from Germany to this flat here in London, England and today I want to give you a tour of my home office.

Now you might be wondering, that looks a lot more like a living room Paige, I thought you said I was going to get an office tour?

Well the truth is, this living room and specifically couch is my favourite place to work, we do indeed have an office with a desk and a printer and all that officey stuff in this apartment, but I personally never really use it, my husband makes use of it but I prefer the couch and this space.

So the living room is where I mostly work from, and this is also the room I film my videos from.

If you watch the channel often, this view here might look familiar to you as this is typically the backdrops of my videos.

We have lived here just over a year now and this flat came fully furnished.

Conveniently for us, London is such a come and go type city, about half the flat rentals I saw online were part or fully furnished, and that's absolutely what we wanted.

We really wanted a totally move-in-ready apartment, when we moved here we figured we'd move over for a year and see how we liked it, so we didn't want the hassle of moving all our stuff. It does mean the style of everything isn't 100% my taste, but overall, I do have to admit I have a bit of a grandma-style, so we really love the vast majority of the furnishings in here.

We have about 12 thousand chairs in our living room!

I'm not sure why so many are necessary, but that's how many the flat came with, we also have a TV which we've never used, a full dining table for 8, and a side area here where I keep all my filming gear.

Our flat doesn't have the most storage space in the world, so we pop my camera lights for videos behind the chairs and the side table is full of my YouTube gear.

I also just got this beautifulll Kamrette backpack

I think it's intended for photographers, but for me as a content creator who often travels, this bag is perfect. I can fit in my camera, gimbal, lenses, backup iPhone, battery charger and extra batteries, multiple micorphones, cords, laptop, notebook, passport.

My only complaint is that the side pockets really are too tight to fit a water bottle, but otherwise it's the perfect camera gear bag!

I leave that by the side table and anytime I'm heading on a trip and need my YouTube stuff, this bag is mostly already packed and ready to go and it's handy to just keep all my gear tidy in the apartment too, so I always know where everything is.

When I film videos, this is what the setup looks like, I pull my lights out from behind the chairs, turn a dining chair around and pop my tripod with the teleprompter right in front of me.

And finally, in the office slash living room we have a beautiful big window which brings in so much light.

One time in university for one semester I lived in a "lower ground floor apartment" which is a nice way of saying a basement apartment, and I definitely would not want to do that again, the lack of sunlight really got to me and I genuinely felt like I was going crazy by month 3, so we love our big window, even if sometimes it's a wee bit grey outside.

And as I said, the couch is honestly my most frequently used workspace!

We do have a 2nd bedroom slash office which I'll show you but I really prefer to work from the couch rather than a desk, so that’s where you'll find me working away most days.

Now I will also show you the actual office in this apartment.

This is our office slash guest bedroom.

If I host a live training, I typically do it from this room as I tend to do trainings in my evening UK time, and I don't want to take over the living room and kitchen in the evening when my husband wants to enjoy his fierabend, that's German for free evening or celebration evening!

I have a ring light in here, we have a printer, I'm a sucker for good design in all things, printers included, I had to have this one (The HP Tango X) because

1. It was pretty

2. It's very compact and has this little flap that means it packs up well so it's the perfect size for a small space.

This here is a painting I did of our home in Germany which sits on our desk here. If I have one I'll pop a video of our home here from the same angle and you can judge how well I managed to capture it in the painting.

Okay, so those are the two main workspaces, my living room and the actual home office, but I do also have a third space I tend to work from and that's my members club/ coworking space - Mortimer House, which I use maybe once a week when I want to get out of the house!

It's a bit of a hike to get to Mortimer House because our flat is in the neighborhood of Chelsea which is an incredible neighborhood, but it's a public transit dead zone, so to get to Mortimer takes me a good 45 minutes, so I don't go all the time, but it is also an exceptionally beautiful space which I find to be very inspiring.

On days I write YouTube scripts I love to go there as I just find the environment with others working and beautiful surroundings gets the creativity going.

Now if you'd like the full story on why we moved to London and a little neighborhood tour too, then be sure to watch this video 👇 where I spill all the beans the good, bad and ugly about what really made us pack up in Germany and head for the UK!

It's probably not what you're currently imagining...
